Medical Definition of Benserazide

1. An inhibitor of dopa decarboxylase that does not enter the central nervous system. It has no antiparkinson actions when given alone. Pharmacological action: antiparkinson agents, dopamine agents, enzyme inhibitors. Chemical name: DL-Serine, 2-((2,3,4-trihydroxyphenyl)methyl)hydrazide (12 Dec 1998)
