Medical Definition of Crigler-Najjar syndrome

1. A rare genetic defect (autosomal recessive) where there is the inability to form bilirubin glucuronide due to the absence of the enzyme bilirubin-glucuronoside glucuronosyl transferase, finding include jaundice and irreversible brain damage in the severe form.
